Japanese Quest (11/14/2011):

 In the latest part of it, you have the task to buy 4 Japanese stuff for your home. It is not really a trick, but when you then go to "specials" (left from the shop when you go to it) and then click on the right arrow a few times, you then will find a carpet for 20 simeleons (darkgray). When you buy 4 of it, you have done your quest on a very cheap way.
